- Can I, instead of shipping my notes, drop them off or pick
them up?
Yes. We have no problems with you dropping off and / or picking up
your notes at our head office. To drop them off, no prior notice is
necessary. Simply come down during our office hours to remit them
to a BCS representative. To pick them up, indicate this on the submission
form by checking the box labelled “pickup” next to the
shipping option. No shipping charge will be added to your total bill
and we will notify you when they are ready to be picked up using the
provided information on your submission form.
- Will my error note receive appropriate certification?
Your note will receive a error recognition under the comments section
for a limited number of error types. BCS reserves the right to not
recognize any type of error.
- Are your holders made of plastic that will not damage my
note over time?
Yes. Our holders are made of an inert plastic that does not contain
any of the softening agents used in some plastics.
- What do I need to put on the “Owners Value”
section of the submission form?
The “Owners Value” section of the submission form is predominantly
for shipping insurance purposes. The amount of shipping charge on
the submission depends on the value stated here. If you state the
submission at a value of $10,000, for example, parcel insurance for
the amount of $10,000 will be added to your shipping cost.
- What does “ORIGINAL” mean under the grade of
the note?
When a note has not been processed in any way and still exhibits many
of it’s original qualities from the printing process, it will
receive an auxiliary designation of ORIGINAL stated directly beneath
the number grade on the certificate of the note.
- Can I submit my U.S. or other foreign bank notes?
Here at BCS we specialize in Canadian government and chartered bank
issued banknotes. We apply an extensive amount of experience and knowledge
based on the unique nature of Canadian paper money. Unfortunately,
these skills do not transfer as directly to world notes. As a result,
BCS only certifies Canadian government and Chartered Bank issues.
- What if I want to get my entire collection certified? Can I take
advantage of bulk submission prices? Are there any other conditions
to consider?
If you have made the decision to protect your investment and certify
your entire collection, submission prices are negotiable based on
what you are submitting and its value. Every case is handled individually.
Such submissions usually require a longer turn around time and special
insurance, but these details are handled on a case by case basis.
Please, fell free to call in and talk to one of our representatives
for more information.
- I’m not quite sure of what deserves submission. Is there
a method of finding this out without having to submit the entire lot?
Here at BCS we offer a kind of consultation service for this very
reason. Often people submit notes for the purpose of selling them.
Although, by design, we have no vested interest in the retail value
of certified notes, we do understand that many of our clients utilize
BCS as a tool for the resale of notes. In an effort to maintain mutually
profitable relationships, we offer preview services. Learn more by
clicking on the associated links or see the submission form for more
details.
- If I am willing to wait, do you offer same day service?
Same day service is available with an appointment. We can process
roughly 10 notes an hour, to a maximum of 100 notes a day. Same day
service is not offered in conjunction with any other offer.
